Using a small-group seminar format, this four-session course offers a forum in which participants can think through some of the challenges involved in building and maintaining a successful private practice.

Building a Private Practice (Session B)
Using a small-group seminar format, this four-session course offers a forum in which participants can think through some of the challenges involved in building and maintaining a successful private practice. We will focus on practical issues such as choosing an office location (in person and/or virtual), record keeping, whether or not to take insurance, and setting fees as well as clinical issues such as finding patients, how to begin treatments, and developing your professional support system.
Please note: this course will also be offered in the Spring.

Alison Newman, LICSW
Alison Newman, LICSW is a Third Year Candidate Member and academic graduate of the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at BPSI; Current advisor and mentor of Fellowship & ATP clinicians at BPSI, Former Adjuct Faculty, Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. Alison is a current supervisor and clinician in private practice in Lexington, MA.
Emily Matteodo, MD
Emily Matteodo, MD is a Third Year Candidate Member of BPSI and an academic graduate of the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She serves as an advisor to BPSI students in the Fellowship Program and as a psychodynamic psychotherapy supervisor to residents in the MGH/McLean Residency Program. She has worked as an attending in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and is currently in full time private practice in Lexington, MA
Open to Licensed Clinicians & Clinicians on the Path to Licensure.
Scholarships are available for BPSI programs.
