To be a grandparent, a father, a son is to live inside the full circle of time. Each role carries memory forward, each moment carries love, and each loss deepens what remains.

In this new collection, Steven Ablon writes of family—its tenderness and its trials, its sweetness and its sorrow. These poems trace the passage of time: the joy of holding a grandchild, the ache of remembering parents now gone, the shifting roles that remind us of our place in the generations.

With clarity and grace, Ablon captures the intimacy of ordinary moments—meals, conversations, embraces—and sets them against the vastness of memory. His language makes us pause, helping us see how fragile, fleeting, and radiant life can be.

These poems are a meditation on what binds us to one another, and on how love endures, even as time changes everything.
