Dr. Anzieu-Premmereur will present the analytic journey of an 8-y old girl who suffered from years-long severe eczema on her face and limbs, and the work undertaken with her parents. She will describe how the psychoanalytic process with her young patient entailed an evolution from what Pierre Marty called essential depression, to sexuality. The creation of a sensory and representational void in the young child, connected to the mother’s difficulties in mourning, as described by André Green, led directly to the psychosomatic picture. Dr. Anzieu-Premmereur will detail her analytic work with this young patient, centering around creating a delicate balance between manic agitation, aggressive opposition, and depressive feelings, and leading to a rapid decrease in her symptoms and awakening of libidinal interests.
