About the Book
Malkah Notman’s engaging monograph, with its in biographical sketches and numerous photos, introduces us to the women who were central to BPSI’s success over its first seven decades. She takes many women analysts out of the shadows and gives them their rightful place in BPSI’s history. Malkah describes their and her own struggles to find a voice in a predominantly male organization. She describes the onset of the Women’s Movement in the 70’s and relates it to changes at BPSI. Notman offers a clear understanding of the paths woman took to leadership in the organization. Hers is a story that needed to be told and is one to be cherished now and by future generations.
